#Open to Work
My career journey continues, and I now look toward the next fulfilling chapter of my life. As I seek the next adventure, let's talk!
So…what’s next? That is the question I ask myself when I rise in the morning and prepare to slumber in the evening.
As many of you know, I launched Daisy Glaze Consulting earlier this year as a private consulting venture offering communications, public relations and marketing services. What I have learned since that launch:
There are LOTS of firms out there that are doing the same thing, so there’s a glut in the market for these services. It’s been hard to crack.
Also, there are LOTS of newly unemployed folks, especially from the government sector, who are now also offering their services in this market.
And, there are LOTS of reasons why I’ve decided to change course and re-enter the full-time employment market.
Of course, we continue to see a difficult job market, but I’m still heartened to see a great many opportunities still available when I study the job boards and career sites for my profession. My strong faith tells me I will find the right fit soon.
So, just to remind folks, I have been the thick of media, technology and education for over three decades in communications, public relations and marketing. For the past 18 years, I’ve served as a leader in this field as a Director for Ennis ISD and Dallas College. Before that, I did global corporate communications for Texas Instruments for seven years after a few years in the media as a journalist to start my career.
So, what kinds of positions would be a fit? Here are some examples:
Director/Manager of Communications, Marketing and/or Public Relations
Director/Manager of Internal Communications
Senior Internal Communications Specialist
Marketing Content Strategist
Chief of Staff
Editorial Lead
